Tumbled Opal, Girasol

Each piece of this tumbled and polished Girasol opal is approximately 1/2" - 1 1/4" in size (we request that you allow for some slight size variation outside that range). Please select whether you would like a 1/2 LB lot or 1 LB lot.

Girasol opal is not a true opal but a type of quartz that exhibits a dreamy opalescent glow that seems to move across the surface of the stone as it catches the light. This phenomenon is known as the "Girasol effect" and is caused by microscopic inclusions of water within the quartz.
