Description:

Each piece of this tumbled and polished brecciated jasper is approximately 1/2" - 1 1/4" in size (we request that you allow for some slight size variation outside that range). Please select whether you would like a 1/2 LB lot or 1 LB lot.

Rock/Mineral Info:

Brecciated jasper is a type of opaque microcrystalline chalcedony known for its deep red coloration and its fragmented patterns. It forms in hydrothermal veins, where silica and other minerals are deposited and accumulate over time to form chalcedony. Tectonic activity then fractures this chalcedony. Over time, more silica-rich fluids flow through the broken rock and crystallize within the cracks, resulting in the beautiful stone we know as brecciated jasper.
