Pink mangano calcite is known for its gentle pink coloration that glows vibrant pinkish-orange under UV light. Many of the different calcite colors grow together in limestone deposits; upon being mined, they are sorted by color and brought to the wider crystal market. Calcites are relatively soft, scoring a 3 on the Mohs hardness scale, and as such can be scratched easily by harder substances.
