Rock/Mineral Info:

Strawberry calcite is a carbonate mineral known for its beautiful pinkish-red coloration, which is caused by trace inclusions of minerals like iron or manganese. Many of the different calcite colors grow together in limestone deposits; upon being mined, they are sorted by color and brought to the wider crystal market. Calcites are relatively soft, scoring a 3 on the Mohs hardness scale, and as such can be scratched easily by harder substances.
