Rough Spinel in Matrix - Size Small

Each piece of this rough spinel in matrix is approximately 1/2" - 2" in size. It is not suitable for tumbling as the host rock is much softer than the spinel mineral. Please select whether you would like a 1 LB lot or 5 LB lot.

Rock/Mineral Info:

Spinel is an oxide mineral with an octahedral crystal structure. Its name is thought to be derived from the Latin "spinella," meaning "little thorn," alluding to its octahedral crystals. It is found in many colors, including red, pink, orange, blue, purple, and black. 

In this product, the spinel crystals have grown in a magnesium-aluminum matrix.
