Rock/Mineral Info: Flint is a type of hard microcrystalline variety of quartz and a form of chert. This type of flint is from the famous Flint Ridge Ohio. While not a form of true flint since it is composed mostly of chalcedony, it is very hard (6.5-7 on the mohs) which means it will polish easily in a rock tumbler and cut well on a saw. Will easily tumble with other jasper, quartz, and agate type minerals as well.
