Rock/Mineral Info:
Sodalite belongs to the mineral group "feldspathoids." It is known for its stunning deep blue color and white veining. It is frequently confused with lapis lazuli, and indeed small amounts of sodalite can be found in lapis lazuli specimens. A good rule of thumb is this: if a significant amount of pyrite is present in the stone, it is not sodalite.
Sodalite occurs in igneous rocks and is the result of crystallization from sodium-rich magmas.
Metaphysical Properties:
Sodalite is associated with communication, intellectualism, discipline, motivation, and enlightenment. It is an awakener of the third eye chakra.
