Ruby in zoisite (also known as anyolite) is a combination of three primary minerals: ruby, zoisite, and black hornblende. Ruby is a type of corundum known for its beautiful red/pink tones and fluorescence under UV light. Zoisite is is a calcium and aluminum silicate mineral that offers a gorgeous green hue to complement the ruby. Further, black hornblende also frequently accompanies the ruby in zoisite, speckling the stone with black inclusions to add depth and interest to the overall aesthetic appearance.
