Rose quartz gets its lovely pink color from trace inclusions of titanium, iron, or manganese. It is a macrocrystalline quartz, meaning it forms in masses rather than in smaller crystals. Rose quartz tends to form inside igneous rocks, pegmatites, and hydrothermal veins in the Earth. Over millions of years, the minerals deposited into the rock cool and crystallize, allowing rose quartz to develop.
