Rock/Mineral Info:

Tiger's eye is a type of quartz that displays chatoyancy, or "cat's eye" effect. The mineral forms when crocidolite (a form of asbestos) is gradually replaced by quartz. Red tiger's eye is caused by inclusions of iron in the stone.

Chatoyancy occurs when parallel fibrous inclusions within the stone reflect and scatter light. This leads to the famous band of light moving back and forth as the viewer rotates the stone.

Red tiger's eye is associated with grounding, abundance, strength, courage, and empowerment. It is connected with the root, sacral, and solar plexus chakras, as well as the zodiac signs of Capricorn and Sagittarius.
