Rock/Mineral Info:
Imperial topaz is a stunning mineral known for its golden or reddish-brown hues. It is a variety of the silicate mineral topaz, which is primarily composed of aluminum and fluorine. Imperial topaz gets its name from 17th-century Russian tsars, who claimed exclusive rights to all topaz mined in the Ural Mountains of Russia.
Typically, imperial topaz forms in igneous rocks like granite and rhyolite, or else in cavities inside volcanic rocks. Its color comes from trace inclusions like chromium or iron in the crystal lattice.
Metaphysical Properties:
Golden Imperial topaz is associated with wisdom, clarity, openness to new ideas, expansion, and connection with ancestors. It is related primarily with the solar plexus chakra.
