Fuchsite (also known as chrome mica or green muscovite) is a micaceous mineral famous for its green shimmer. Its green color comes from chromium impurities within the crystal lattice. 

Fuchsite is often found in metamorphic environments, primarily within schist and gneiss formations. It occurs as small flakes or crystals inside these rocks. Fuchsite is also an indicator mineral, meaning it provides vital insights into the geological conditions under which its region's rocks formed.
