Fire quartz (also known as hematoid quartz) is a type of quartz known for the vibrant streaks of reddish-orange running throughout the crystal. These streaks are caused by trace hematoid inclusions in the crystal lattice. Quartz forms when mineral-rich fluid flows through rocks in the Earth's crust, depositing silica and other minerals along the way. These minerals bond and accumulate, sometimes forming fire quartz.
