Rock/Mineral Info:

Blue aventurine is composed of macrocrystalline quartz grains and disseminated dumortierite, the latter of which offers the stone its blue coloration. Further, blue aventurine is known for the tiny mica or hematite inclusions that make it shimmer. 

Blue aventurine forms when molten material rich in silicon dioxide gradually cools and solidifies in the Earth's crust. During this process, the inclusions that define blue aventurine enter the material to create the famous stone.
