Cheetah opal is a type of opal famous for its distinct cheetah-like spots. These spots are usually black or dark brown, and their background can be yellow, orange, tan, peach, or sometimes pink. Opal is technically not a crystal because it does not have a crystal structure. Instead, it is a mineraloid that forms when silica-rich water accumulates and hardens within host rocks.
