Snowflake obsidian is a variety of obsidian known for its snowy inclusions, creating a gorgeous contrast between black and white. These inclusions are caused by tiny amounts of cristobalite, which gradually crystallize in the stone over time.

Obsidian is not technically a crystal, but a volcanic glass that forms when lava cools rapidly. It is found all over the world in any region with substantial volcanic activity.
