Red Jasper is a fine-grained, opaque variety of chalcedony. It has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs Scale, and a trigonal crystal structure. This rock can be found in many places around the world including in the US in the states of Arizonia and Utah.
Red Jasper is said to have strong metaphysical healing qualities including to lower high blood pressure and aid a weak heart.
It is also believed to protect against heat, drought, and famine.
